Saskatchewan produces over one-third of Canada’s primary energy among which is geothermal power. Opportunities abound for geothermal power generation in Estevan primarily because it’s a non-intermittent resource that is highly available, and can provide permanent employment for the development of local firms. It is an inexhaustible, constant source of energy, independent of weather and climate conditions and whose exploration creates very low visual impact to the community. More importantly, geothermal energy can be used for heating and cooling purposes as well as the production of electricity – all factors which make it a viable investment opportunity for Estevan.
